Step 2 and interview offers

Is Step 2 generally NOT required for the doling out of interview offers? I got an avg step 1 score of 240 (based on last year's data) and I'm taking Step 2 in late Oct. All else being equal, I just wondering a late Step 2 puts me at some disadvantage with respect to interview offers?

Not really. There is so much more to your application besides STEP scores. Your STEP1 score is fine. As long as you have good clinical grades, research, and other ECs in your application, you should be fine.

STEP 2 isn't important unless your step 1 is below average.
