Step 2 CK score needed for Match?

Hello Everybody,

A great forum. Wish i had found out about this before ! 4th yr med student here going through the chores of a tedious 4th year and now the interviews to add to the fun! Gotta love it in a sarcastic way ofcourse. I

was planning on taking step 2 CK this Dec but with the interviews i am worried about not preparing well for it. Thinking i should rather put it off till late Jan ! Is the step 2 CK scored required for the Match? I have taken Step 2 CS this month.

Appreciate your replies ! My apologies if this question has been beaten to death.

It depends on the program some will require to rank you, so for that you have to take it i think by jan 20 or something bec feb 15 is rank list day and it takes 3 weeks for them to get it.....if they dont require it then you can take it anytime you want...

Isnt the rank list day March 15? Or is that the match day? So in that case i need my step 2 CK scores by Feb 21st? Appreciate your clarification here.

Programs must submit final information on quotas and withdrawals by 11:59 PM eastern time.

Applicants and programs must certify their rank order lists by 9:00 PM eastern time. Staff will be available to answer your questions during the final deadline hours. CERTIFIED applicant and program rank order lists and any other information pertinent to the Match must be entered in the R3 System by this date and time.

Applicant matched and unmatched information posted to the Web site at 12:00 noon eastern time.

March 13, 2007


Filled and unfilled results for individual programs posted to the Web site at 11:30 am eastern time.

Locations of all unfilled positions are released at 12:00 noon eastern time. Unmatched applicants may begin contacting unfilled programs at 12:00 noon eastern time.

March 15, 2007


Match Day! Match results for applicants are posted to Web site at 1:00 pm eastern time.
