So I've searched around with this topic and some were old or didnt apply to my situation. Basically I'm taking step 2 CK in the middle of September. Which obviously means that my score will come out in October. I have a few questions about this. Obviously I know its better to have the score before ERAS applications get submitted, but due to life circumstances it is what it is. I dont have a good step 1 score (207), but I have strong LORs. I would rather have a decent step 2 CK score than both bad scores and delayed it. (That's the gamble I've chosen.) US allopathic by the way.
I'm applying to Internal medicine. How bad will this affect me? Any pros/cons? I'm mostly applying to community programs, not trying to reach high academic programs or anything.
I'll be submitting my ERAS anyways as I know some programs dont require a step 2 ck for interview, for the programs that do, should I just email them with my score once it comes in? How should I go about this?
Has anybody else done this? Any advice is appreciated, as there is only a few in my class doing this.
Also once I do update programs with my step 2 CK scores, does anyone have any idea when they would likely send out an interview invite (this is assumptive of course). Like November/ December?
Thank you!
