USMLE Step 2 ck timing question

Hello,
I did about average for step 1 (which I thought was great). Am looking to match IM or EM.
I am worried that I won't do as well on step 2 ck as my step 1 score. When should I take my step 2ck test if this is the case?
I could take it right after M3 (in may/June) or is there a thing that I can take it later in the year that helps delay getting scores to residencies?
