I am taking step 2 cs on Dec 21 and score will come out latest by Feb 20 which is the day to submit rank list. Is it too late? Do any of these programs require this score to rank? Thanks!

I do not know if the RESULT is required, but some programs notified that they needed to know the exam had been taken prior to them creating their rank list. I got this contact via email/ERAS message. I did not apply to any of those programs so I can't give you specifics on those in particular.

You said CS, did you mean CK? I didn't think anyone cared about CS, so long as you pass it. Well, the NBME cares but that is because they are squealing all of the way to the bank with those fat cheques.

I would like to know the answer to this question for all programs in general. Do they care that you have a Step 2 CS score by the time they rank, assuming you are AMG?

i actually emailed all of the above programs and every email reply I got said ... no neither step 2 cs nor ck score is required to rank but would a nice CK score help you? That's a different question ...

Yes a good CK score definitely will help and some programs definitely PREFER to see the CK score before ranking even if its not technically required

So the consensus is that Step 2 CS results are NOT required by the ROL due date?

Does anyone else have any insight for anesthesiology residencies and CS?

My step 2 ck was in before my application was out, but I am taking cs next week and scores definitely won't be back until after match day. Just was wondering if I should contact pds or if they care at all about cs before rol.

Thanks.

Considering that most US medical grads pass the CS because they can speak English and that it is P/F, i doubt any program will care too much about your scores.

I did not release my CK scores at all to the programs and still match. I remember 1 or 2 programs wanting the scores, but not required for most places. As mentioned already, a good CK score can sometimes help a low step I score.

For CK, if the score came back after most of your interviews (and is a satisfactory one), is it necessary to email programs to update them of your score? Will most programs refresh applications before making their rank lists to see the most updated version, or will they just use whatever they may have printed out the day of your interview? I'd like to update programs since my step 2 jumped a bit from my step 1, but if they will probably see it anyway, I do not want to send unnecessary emails. Thanks for the help.

Check the ADTS on ERAS to see if they downloaded your updated USMLE transcript (see if the "Available to Program" date for your USMLE transcript is after the "Last Update" date). If programs have downloaded your updated USMLE transcript, I highly doubt you would need to email them.
