I have two main questions:
1) should we list all relevant tests (up to 8), disregarding how aggressive they are / how likely it is that they would be done in real life
2) should we list tests for possible diagnoses outside the 3 in our differential?
Regarding #1 - first aid lists very aggressive work ups (LP for tension headaches, laparoscopy even if endometriosis isn't high on the differential). USMLE website says that you get dinged for aggressive testing (i.e. you get dinged for CT scan for a URI). These two philosophies seem to directly contradict.
