step 2 for fellowships?

How important is your step 2 score in terms of getting fellowship? I intend to take it in March (I haven't started studying yet, and I won't be able to take time off from rotations to study) - so it would drastically improve my quality of life for the next couple months if I don't really need to get a very high score...

Between my classmates and I, about half of the places we applied to asked for USMLE scores. The places that did ask wanted all 3 scores. Overall retina fellowships seemed, based on our applications, more likely to ask than glaucoma and cornea.
