I am finishing up my M3 Medicine clerkship, and will be done 9/28/12. Step 1 211.
I had to postpone it until this summer semester because I had to take some time off last fall due to a complicated pregnancy and subsequent preterm delivery.
My re-worked schedule had me taking Step 2 in December (anytime, because my school is a testing spot just for our students), but now I'm wondering if I should try to take it sooner.
After medicine ends, this is the rest of my M4 schedule through Dec:
10/1-10/14 Anesthesia elective
10/15 - 11/11 Pulmonary ICU
11/12 - 12/9 Nephrology
12/10 Step 2 CS
12/11 - 1/6 free
There are no residents at my locations so I will be doing a lot, not much downtime during the day to study.
There was no way to study for anything but medicine during this clerkship, but given my schedule above, what do you think about moving Step 2 up from December? I should have about 3-4 hours in the evenings plus free weekends (no call) to study starting Oct. 1.
Anyone have any thoughts on moving it up, and when?
Thanks
