can anyone comment on their experience with step 2 being required at certain neuro residencies for applications this year?

Does this "requirement" often mean they want to see the score before an interview is granted vs. do they want to see it before rank lists are submitted?

anyone care to talk about when they took it this past year and why? im a us student with a 230. advice?

Step 2 isn't required at any residency to be invited for an interview. That being said, having a strong step 2 that is better than step 1 will help. You will need to submit it before rank lists are finalized I think. I took mine in October and didn't have any issues.

With a 230, you could probably get interviews at any program (i.e., it won't be the limiting factor), however, if you think you could improve upon it by 20-30 points, might be worthwhile to take step 2 ck early during fourth year.
