Sorry if this has been asked many times before, but I just needed some guidance.

I failed step 1 on first attempt and passed on the second attempt.

Step 2 score of 24x and level 2 score of 56x.

I want to match into neurology, but not sure if i should or should not include my step 1 fail.

I keep hearing mixed thoughts such as not disclosing to avoid filters, but on the other hand, if they ask during interviews and i tell them the truth, can that be seen as being dishonest/deceptive?

Just not sure if i should disclose my failed attempt and explain it in the apps or to just withhold and tell the truth during interviews if asked.

Yea I would disclose given you passed second attempt and your step 2 (which is much more like step 3) was a comfortably passing score

Step 3 Day 1= Step 1
Step 3 Day 2= Step 2
While true nobody reviews step 1 stuff and that’s why step 3 scores don’t matter one bit. It’s all about the passing score and clinical knowledge from wards is where the majority of people “study” from

You need that boost that comes with you passing Step 2 comfortably. You cannot release individual scores. Once you transmit your USMLE transcript all your scores are disclosed all at once. So you can either disclose all of them or none of them. I would advise disclosing them rather than applying with just COMLEX scores. It’s been proven before that you are in a better place than any COMLEX only applicant even if you had barely passed USMLE scores.
