Don't count on it. Though I did know of someone who had "connections" who did. But indubitably this is the rare exception.

I can only speak of our program in that we require it, and the completion of Step 3 by the end of 1st year. It was always my impression that most programs (if not your medical school) require Step 2 before you start.
