I'm just wondering if anybody has good resources to utilize in studying for this exam. I'm into my third rotation of clinical years and haven't really done much other than observe. While the experiences have been good I don't see myself being prepared to pass these role playing boards. I've only seen a handful of patients on my own and have not yet done an oral presentation. I wrote a progress note a few times on the first rotation. I honestly don't really know how to see patients on my own since nonody does full histories and these office visits are 5-10 mins. Any pointers I'll take them.

Moving thread to Step II forum. There's lots of resources in that forum you can look through.

First Aid for Step 2 CS is all you need when the time comes. You don't need it yet.

You'll do presentations on your inpatient rotations. If they're not letting you present patients, advocate for yourself. It's a skill you have to build and a skill you're expected to have by intern year. Take ownership of your patients.

You're not expected to know how to "see patients on your own" just yet. You're a relatively brand new 3rd year. There's a reason why people don't take CS until 4th year, when you have a lot more experience under your belt.

You don't do a full H&P in Step 2 CS. It's a focused H&P concentrated on the chief complaint. The setting is an office or an emergency department and you have 15 minute to get the story, examine, and counsel the patient. Quite similar to the timeframe you have in real life, actually.

I don't know anything about the COMLEX version of the test so there may be other components.
