Step 3 changes in testing format

Does anyone know exactly when Step 3 will change over to including drug ad questions and 12 ccs cases? The website says mid-Feb but doesn't specify an exact date. I'm frustrated b/c I am taking the test on Feb 4 and want to know what to expect.

I called the USMLE hotline and all they had to say was that the change will take place sometime in Feb but they don't know when. You think they would give us a concrete answer especially since we're paying so much $$ for the test.

I took the "old" test last week. I think you should be safe from the change and the four month wait if you take it on 2/4/12. There are still a lot of statistics/medical lit questions on it as it is. Currently you will have one day of 7 blocks of 48 questions (inpt and outpt) and one day of 3 blocks of 36 questions and then 9 CCS cases.
