Step 3 Eligibility Question

Hello,

Can someone please explain the eligibility for this:

Does this mean I can't take Step 3 until after PGY1 in Ohio or does it mean I can't use Step 3 as a way to gain licensure until after PGY1?

You can always take step 3 any time you want after step 2. Ohio has nothing to do with that decision.

I think all it means is that Ohio won’t let you get an unrestricted license until you’ve at least completed PGY-1. Which is not unusual.
