Step 3 Preparation

I've searched this forum and there isn't much information about Step 3 preparation.
(1)What did some of you use?
(2)With the above ?#1, for practice question Kaplan Qbook (new one to come out on Sept 1, 2004...check amazon) or NMS Step 3 (2002 newest edition)?
I also plan to use Crush Step 3 with one of the above sources.

I did an IM prelim year. I took step 3 about 2/3 of the way through. I skimmed a few chapters in crush step 3, completed the practice questions provided on the USMLE CD, and reviewed the case based simulations several times. I didn't produce a particularly impressive score (I didn't beat the mean), but I passed comfortably.

Thanks. I am only interested in passing. I definitely don't plan on doing a fellowship or anything...I'm an emergency medicine intern. Any other ideas from others.

I used the Family Practice Review by Swanson. My friends swore by it. I took a chance with it. The test was no problem.

Strongy-
I am a EM PGY2 (a DO). I just got my score back for COMLEX Step 3. I only read Crush Step 3 by Brochert. It is basically all I needed (besides studying the requisite DO neck-crackin' stuff). Scored VERY well. I studied about 1 hour a day for 6-7 days before.

How is Einstein? Is there a RN there, Morgane, still working there? I rotated there two years ago.

Thanks for the advice. I loved Crush Step 2, so that is why I am looking Crush at Step 3. I love Einstein. We had a month of orientation to EM, which was awesome. Now I am in my 3rd week of Anesthesiology. I am still trying to learn the name of all the nurses in the ER, but Morgane does not ring a bell.

Best advice I can give you is to definately get Crush Step 3. I didn't take the USMLE but one of my fellow pGY-2ers just did, so I will ask him how he studied and how he think he did.

Dont see much difference btn Crush the Boards step 2 and step 3 ...just chapters in diff order
