Current TY studying for step 3. How much does step 3 score matter for securing fellowships? What if I am interested in ESIR/Independent IR?

I honestly don't think it matters. I have never heard an attending bringing up step 3 as far as fellowship. I am not doing IR though. Still, I think we would know by now. It doesn't matter as far as I can tell. A good score won't hurt you for sure. I don't think a bad score does hurt though.

So I found out today I failed step 3, Pretty devastated and cried all day. I have no clue how it went so wrong. Got a 187 and the new score report doesn't even tell you how or why you failed something, it doesn't tell you what sections you failed or how you did on CCS. I need advice, I dont even know how to register again. I just need help really. Got a 214 on UWSA 2 and a 198 on UWSA1 so really just at a loss
