So I've been wondering what most people use to study for step 3... I ask it in here because most EM people seem to think the same way in my experience. I know people use USMLE World, and I like that one, but I like reading review books too for these things. Which one did ya'll use?

Also, all of my easy rotations seem to be early this year, like now haha... the last half of my year is looking fairly rough. I didn't know my schedule soon enough to schedule it early, so I was also wondering how late I can take Step 3. Do people take it in 2nd year?

depends on the program you're in. I would check with program coordinator for timeline. Generally, you need a pass in step 3 before starting year 3.

Generally, if you take it at the end of the year, you usually wont' need more than a day to study: take a few sample questions to lear the online format and read maybe the preventive medicine chapter of a study guide at a Barnes and Noble cafe.

I'm debating taking it in June right before intern year starts if that's possible. Could casually do uworld or something while I'm watching my infant and go ahead and get it over with.

Bad idea?
might be a good idea to wait--some places'll pay the fee for you. My hospital pays for it, as long as you take it pgy2 year.
