I will be entering intern year soon, and looking to take step 3 in the next couple of months. I was wondering what impact, if any, my Step 3 score will have on my future? Does it matter at all for fellowship placement? Or is all that matters that I pass?

Your step 3 score only matters if it is too low to pass. Take the exam and get it out of the way, so that you can concentrate on starting your anesthesia training. I have seen residents put off step 3 until late in their residency, creating other problems. (You are unable to get a state medical license until you pass step 3. Without a state license you cannot start your post-residency job or take the ABA written board exam.)

agreed. just take the damn thing. 184/75 is the magic number. no one cares as long as you're above that. i even know someone who failed it once before passing, and is still going into a fellowship.
