Your step 3 score only matters if it is too low to pass. Take the exam and get it out of the way, so that you can concentrate on starting your anesthesia training. I have seen residents put off step 3 until late in their residency, creating other problems. (You are unable to get a state medical license until you pass step 3. Without a state license you cannot start your post-residency job or take the ABA written board exam.)
