I took NBME 4 yesterday and got a 244. That's a 26 pt increase from NBME 3. I dont know if its luck or what but my actual test is Thursday. Im considering delaying it or taking another NBME to make sure my score isnt a fluke. What are your thoughts?

NBME 1: 188 (7/23)
NBME2: 209 (7/29)
NBME3: 218 (8/14)
NBME4: 244. (8/19)

uworld: 63% correct
37th percentile

What is your UWorld percentage from the last 5 or so question blocks (best if they are timed, random)? You might be at your peak, in which case you want to "strike while the iron is hot." Delaying now could be a bad idea.

I think you have to be very careful taking predictive exams too close to your test (I avoid them within 10 days of my step exams). I would certainly not take another one between now and Thursday. Best case scenario - you get a score in the same ballpark as your last NBME, giving you more confidence. Worst case scenario, you drop below your last few scores and shatter your confidence. You can really psych yourself out in these situations.

I say no more predictive exams and stick to your test date - and firmly believe that NBME 4 is a great predictor 😀
