How much of Step I is usually included as straight physiology q's?

I have heard varying things about this. One of my 3rd yr friends told me he maybe got 2 or 3 true physio questions, and that phys is generally just something that underlies everything else. But nonetheless, BRS phys is one of the standards along w/ brs path and first aid and q bank as preparation.

As I understand it, the exam is about 70% path, with the breakdown of the remaining 30% varying between tests. Do you agree?

Thanks for any help.

Peace!

The exam is very clinical. I woudn't say 70% path, but it seems that 70% of questions have some sort of a clincal vingette. There are very few purely physio qestions as your friend said, but most pathophys questions (and there are plenty) require a fairly indepth understanding of the underlying physiology. I highly recommend BRS phys. It's conscise and to the point.

Bumping this thread...

A MS3 student told me physio is more important for step 1... I guess I am f... since my average in the NBME physio in MS1 was in the mid 70s... Can a strong average in path make up for my poor performance in physio?
