Hey all I'm taking CK right on the cusp of when it might be just too late for schools to incorporate it into their rank lists.
Do any programs to folks knowledge strongly favor having the score to rank people?
Does it show the scheduled test date when you submitted ERAS of when you'd take it (I've since pushed the date back a couple of times so don't want them thinking I'm keeping my score from them)
And does it say WITHHELD or anything of that nature since I haven't chosen to release automatically?
Thanks

I didn't release my step 2 score until May. I don't believe it affected my match. Heh.

I think it is only important to have a step II score available if you're trying to make up for a low-ish step I score. Otherwise, I wouldn't worry about it.

I agree with the above. Plus, if you get the score and it's really good, or even just a nice bump up from your Step 1 score, you can download the PDF from the website and attach it to an email with an update to programs. Unlikely to change things much, but one other route.

As an aside that may be useful to everyone: Save those board score PDFs! They're only on the USMLE website for 90 days and they come in handy for future jobs/residency needs. Classmates of mine needed the Step 2 scores to start residency and had to pay on the order of $50 to get copies of those scores. Make sure to save that PDF for your own records to avoid these charges in the future!

I was wondering the same thing. I did well on step 1. But with interviews, rotations, etc. im im left with only a week to study for CK. can't imagine doing better then step 1 and hope it doesn't hurt me if I dont release it until after match.

Must be nice to get PDFs these days. Had to scan my own back in the day to do the same!
