Hey Step-2 Study Club and fellow MS4's--

What topics are totally kicking your butt?

Despite studying the following topics...I can not seem to get practice q's right about some of the most basic stuff:

1-Urge Incontinence (I had a urogyne rotation, IDK what the problem is)
2-Meniere's Disease
3-Pediatric Immunizations (probably because I always used the chart)
4-Sarcoid!!

Anyway--I will be reviewing something and just start laughing out loud.
I mean really--every athlete is on steroids?

Only a week from tomorrow is the big day for me.
How's everyone else doing?
What's kicking your butt (even if it shouldn't be?)

-Peds immunizations
-Peds milestones
-Random peds infections (Must be a Kaplan thing, I'm gonna quit using it in favor of UW)
So far, I'm on peds, and it sucks

Sarcoid doesn't deserve to kick anyone's butt on this exam. Once you see an African American female in her 30's, you know it's Sarcoid and should do an x-ray to look for bilateral hilar lymphadenopathy so you can give steroids.

Cardiology in general beats me up, and both NBME and USMLE World agree that I need to pick up the slack on Surgery. Cardiology, Endocrine, Immunologic disorders are going to have to earn my attention for a while.

Okay, so you can modify my list to:
1-Digoxin toxicity (somehow they always mystify me with this)
2-Wiskott-Aldrich, X-Linked Agammaglobulinemia, Chronic Granulomatous Disease of Childhood (and the other kid weird immuno stuff)
3-anytime I have to deal with acid-base stuff (not confusing, I just get really lazy about it, especially in chart form)

Keep up the good study work you guys.

Anyone else try NBME form 2?
I thought it was helpful but very neuro and psych heavy!
I did pretty well on it though (goal is 230+)

Jackie, is that your real picture? If so... me, you, wine, and some chocolate strawberries in front of sunset over ocean... what do you think?

I think that is Kate Beckinsale, as if any med student could look like that in real life. 😀

That is awfully sweet of you--people tell me that I look like her so I have it as my profile picture 🙂

And to the other poster, yes, it is Kate Beckinsale.

So I'm doing better and none of the above is kicking my butt anymore.

Now I just gotta slow down and READ the questions--the only person kicking my butt really is me.
