How old can your steps 1 and 2s be when applying for residency? I took a less traditional route but don't want to retake my steps if I can avoid it. I hear it is up to each program, but what patterns have any of you particularly noticed?

The actual step scores themselves are valid for a duration of 7 years. However, many programs have a cut off of 5 years since med school graduation. Some even desire that you have gradated med school within 3 years.

I haven't seen usmle dates as a criteria anywhere at all. but you never know, they could be, because you have to write down the date on ERAS.
