I used Step-Up for USMLE Step I. I find that it was great review of organ systems stuff, HOWEVER, I liked the info that was covered in the first half of First Aid (e.g. pharm, biochem, embryo) - that stuff is so high yield that everyone DEFINITELY ought to know them inside and out, regardless if they use Step-Up. So, I used that first half of First Aid and then all of Step Up that wasn't already included in that first half of FA.
I also annotated my Step-Up during my second-year class - a lot of times you get a bit overkill b/c classes go in much more depth than req'd for the the boards, however, I found it to be very helpful in organizing my thoughts during the year so that when it came time to study for Step I, I already new what to expect regarding what diseases were grouped together and what made them different/recognizable. In short, the latest edition of StepUp is pretty new - if you're able to keep up with classes and take a peak at StepUp every now and then, it won't hurt, and may even help!
