I'm a little confusing about the things required to become a OMFS.

All I knows is:

Undergrad 4 + DAT
Dental School + NBDE I/II
Then you choose between 4 year track or 6 year track.

Questions
USMLE is only required for the 6 year track?
Do I need to take the NBME ?

Step 1: cut a hole in a box.

But i guess to address your question: 6 yr = MD meaning you have to pass USMLE
to get your medical license. NBME is the new yard stick instead of NBDE Part I to
get into any OMFS program. Also I think your title is supposed to be Steps for becoming an OMFS
or Steps to become an OMFS. (let's propagate good English hur)

It's not my main language. Still working on it. Thanks for the reply anyways.

You need to take the NBDE I/II to be a licensed dentist. For those who are interested in the oral surgery program, you would also need to take the NBME to apply for those programs.

If you choose to do the 6 year program, to get your MD, you would have to take the USMLE I/II/III during the med school portion of the training.

Those who do the 4-year route will not get their MD, so they are not required to take the USMLE.
