okay guys this question is taken out of topscore -test 2- number 90.

when (S)-2-iodobutane is reacted under SN2 coniditons with methanol, what will be the major product?

In general im not sure when we switch from R conig to S config....

ok i think i got it....i knoew about the inversion of config...during an SN2 rxn...but i was aware of the stereochem rules...on how you have to switch the lowest prorirty group facing away from you....thanks guys
