Yes. I know lots of students who use this one. I prefer the Classic II, but it's a bit more expensive. Some of my classmates with the Lightweight II later said they wish they'd bought the one I have (probably mostly due to looks rather than function). You can also get the Classic II engraved from some places so it doesn't get mistaken for another student's.

Spend the least amount of money you can on a stethoscope as it will be the least useful $100 you spend in school

They said to purchase a high quality one and the APhA-ASP organization on my campus is selling them for $60. I did some searching online and found they are actually $50, and the classic ii se is around $70
