Still in high school... I got some questions

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
i guess i was more of an entrepreneur... or opportunist however you want to look at it. I also worked for myself, so maybe that is the easier road? I don't know. but those classes were jokes compared to my pre-med stuff.
Not all docs make a lot of money just like not all business people make a lot of money. maybe the bottom is higher for docs but the top is higher for business people. if you want to be secure, medicine will do that...but if you want to be super rich i think business is a better route. just mho.

Thats very well put.

Anesthesia definitely has it's plusses as an entrepreneur. With no office to worry about, you have a lot of time to pursue outside of medicine (and within medicine) opportunities, and you are very flexible with location and subsequent moving: no 2,000 patient practice to sell off when the time comes to move.

im the opposite...i think that's what makes me personally different from most doctors. medicine seems so "safe" it almost sickens me. I would assume anesthesia has a few more cowboys and pro-risk people.

LOL, I love you all. Thank you for this laugh. 🙂

All I have to say to the highschooler is... do what you love.

I love learning, and there is just about no profession where you will be more responsible for learning, than that of a physician.

If you are doing it for the money, it really is a bad choice. You would have put many years into obtaining a "job" you will not enjoy, and will also probably complain about "going to work."
