I submitted my application on June 3 at 8:30 am, but my application is still not verified, but my friend submitted on June 2, and hers is. Is it normal for my application to not be verified yet?

Yes, there's a thread where everyone is posting their submission date and time and when they're verified. There are still some people from June 2nd not verified and June 3rd and 4th are starting to be verified now. Look for the thread its titled AMCAS Submission/verification 2015-2016.

You understand that once verified, it just sits there until July 1, right? Nothing happens to it. Nothing matters this early

According to last years verification times on this thread: http://forums.studentdoctor.net/threads/amcas-verification-times-2014-2015.1082294/ (found more accurately in the spreadsheet) it doesn't really matter what day you submit as long as it is roughly before 10 days post the opening date. So realistically everyone who submitted by June 12th will still be verified by July 1st which means that their application still gets sent to medical schools at the earliest date.

More people should know that really, would help with people freaking out.

I submitted 11 am on June 2nd and didn't get verified until June 10th at 3 pm. Plus like everyone said it doesn't do anything else until July 1st so you're fine.

Not necessarily true. If you are not verified by July 1st then it does matter. I submitted and was given ready for review access almost two weeks ago (June 3) and have not yet been verified. So I would recommend submitting before July 15 for sure or as early as possible to ensure that you will be verified on the day apps get sent out. Your app will not be sent out to schools if it is not yet verified.

Yeah thanks for addressing something I didn't mention. Also, getting transmitted the first day doesn't even matter. Anyone getting secondaries even in early August is still early. Everything can be written already since the prompts are on SDN so this mad rush for July 1 transmission is pointless if you're prewriting in July.
