Been a few months now since this message was given to me...

"Thank you for applying to the DPT program at the University of Michigan-Flint. At this stage, your file has been processed and reviewed. You have submitted a competitive application and a final admission decision will be made on your application no later than the end of February 2013 at which point in time you will receive notification."

Well, February has officially started...I have a few weeks now until their deadline is up in terms of letting us know. This is my final school I need to hear from...I have fortunately been accepted to Andrews University so I will at least be going somewhere. But UM Flint is my top choice because of the location, costs, etc...I personally feel like UM Flint will also have more opportunity for stipend jobs and whatnot...It still scares the crap out of me as to how I am gonna pay for my bills while I am in school....lol Come on UM Flint! Email us soon!!!

Insanity is setting in....I got this email today...lol

"Thank you for applying to the University of Michigan-Flint DPT program for Fall 2013 admission. Your application file is currently in review. You will receive a decision by email by Thursday, February 28. If you have any questions, please feel free to email [email protected]."

Eeshh...lol

I wonder how many qualified applicants they are reviewing. It must be a lot if we still have to wait till Feb 28.? UGH I am losing patience:bang::bang::bang:

A little under two weeks to go... *checks phone..waits five minutes...checks again....waits five minutes...checks again........* :scared:

Hello, I am interested student wanting to apply to uofm flint in the upcoming cycle. Would you guys mind sharing your stats? Also, any tips on what this school is looking for and what you guys did to stand out from the applicant pool would be greatly appreciated!

My stats are nothing special, but I do have a lot of extra curricular activities that I think helped me

Stats:
Overall GPA: 3.2
Pre-Req GPA:3.2
GRE:1100 (570 Q, 530 V)
Observation Hours: 2200 Hours across 4 setting (acute, ortho, wound care, neuro)

I'm also not sure how much it helped, but I have a Masters degree so I think it helped show I can handle graduate level course work and I've spent the last 2 years working for a company that designs and implements adaptive fitness programs for people who have SCI's, TBI's, etc. This is my 3rd time through the application cycle and my first acceptance, so persistence was key for me. Hope this helps. Good Luck!

I did have all the pre-req's done before applying, but I had to re-take a few classes because I graduated in 2009 and a few pre-reqs were taken before the 5 year cut off.

I'm not sure, your best bet is to contact the department. They have always been very helpful with me so I'm sure they would be happy to offer advice.

You're fine if you don't have your pre-reqs done when you apply. There is something called academic update that happens in the beginning of December that allows you to update your transcripts.

I would still have a bio class and a medical terminology class left to take after December and would plan to take these two in the spring and summer before the program.

Got my call yesterday too! Woot! Here we come UM! Ill be looking forward to meeting you guys this fall! :-D

Sorry for double posting here...and this is a minor question...but did any of you guys hear anything about accepted student getting a laptop/tablet with all of the programs needed over the next three years already pre-loaded? I could have sworn I remember hearing something like this at one of the meet and greets they had...

Congrats to all who got accepted! I'm still waiting 👎... There is a 3rd year student finishing her clinical where I work from um flint and she said that students do get a laptop. But it is just for school.

Congratulations to those who have been accepted! Good luck to those who are still waiting. I got the call a couple days ago as well! I live in Michigan, so UM-Flint is definitely up there in my list. I still have an interview coming up from Wayne State University and I am wait-listed at Oakland University. Has anyone else applied to these 3 schools? Are there any major differences in terms of education received/university name on degree? I know UM-Flint is a 3 year program while the other two are three and a half years.
