Hi everyone
I received the army hpsp back in February, and I was wondering when I should expect stipend payments to start.
Orientation at my med school is August 4th, 2014, and on the mods website it lists my stipend start date as August 11th, 2014. BUT, in the FAQ of the mods site, it says this about the stipend start date:
"""
Q:When will my stipend start?
A:You will start to accrue stipend on the first day of the first semester that you were awarded a scholarship for. It is paid by direct deposit on the first and fifteenth of each month. You are paid stipend all year (during Christmas break, summer, ect.) unless you are on ADT (you receive active duty pay) or, you have had your benefits suspended for some reason.
"""
So does this mean I will get the stipend direct deposit on August 11th, or on the 15th?
I searched for other threads, and this one in particular said it could take up to 30 days to get your first stipend. This thread from 6 years also said to prepare for the worst, which will be tough for me to do =/
Just asking because I need to know how much wiggle room my finances will have this August.
