Do most students live in the campus apartments or in off-campus housing?

I just got the thing in the mail today about the on-campus apartments, they look cheap ($550/month) and include utilities and cable/phone/internet. Anyone know anything about the housing situation?

Most students live off campus. The on campus housing is....well i haven't been in, but i haven't heard great things. Most of my friends that live around there rent like 4 or 5 bedroom houses with 4 or 5 people, and pay about 600 each, within ten minutes (drive) of the school.

Hey, does anyone have anything good to say about living on campus, or know someone that did at least for the first year? Does anyone plan on living on campus? Are there off campus apartments close by that do not require a car?

Honestly, i don't know anyone who had much positive to say about living on campus except that it was close. It's definitely doable, but off campus housing is essentially the same price and you can find something nicer. On long island, you're going to want a car. But the second best thing to having a car? Your roommates having a car. If you rent a house with five people, and four of them have cars and are mostly first years with you, you'll have no problem getting to class, going along to the supermarket, etc.
