I actually called in inquiring on my status and Patricia told said they sent out waitlist offers so I still did not receive it yet. They did not mention anything on overbooking but sending out waitlist offers hints it, I don't know for sure though. And I was interviewed on 1/17/07. Good luck!

since there has not been a single acceptance offer made for the second round, stony brook is basically waitlisting everybody who interviewed after november. they are crazy

Yeah kinda sucks. It pretty much proves that they are overbooked 😡

Does Stony Brook let you know your ranking on the waitlist? I interviewed 1/31... so I hope to hear about the waitlist sooner than later.

there would need to be at least 10 people to opt out, and so if you are ranked first on the waitlist, the chance to get in will still be slim at best
