Interview season is long - August to February. As such, earlier interviews will come with earlier acceptance (or rejection) decisions. I've come to find out that most schools only allow 2-3 weeks for an applicant to make a decision following an offer of acceptance.

I did the math, and I realized that I will have to make a decision for my early-season schools before I even get a chance to interview at my later-season schools!!

So what do you do? Ask for an extension on your decision time?

Has anyone else run into this problem?

You can hold multiple acceptances until May 15th... see similar thread on this page.

Read AMCAS guidelines. Many schools will only ask for a seat deposit which (really) should be refundable if you withdraw prior to May 15 and some just ask you to say "yes, hold me that seat." You can hold multiple acceptances until May 15. On May 15, you must be only holding an accepted seat at one school but you can remain on waitlists.

That was quick and easy.

Thanks and sorry for the repetitive post.

These decisions aren't binding, i.e., by accepting a seat to the class, you usually AREN'T committing to matriculating at that school. Instead, you're just letting them know that you don't want them to give your seat away because you're still considering them. This can be irritating because of the deposits, but as someone else mentioned those are refundable as long as you withdraw by 5/15.
