I have been wait listed pre-interview, is there a way to strengthen my application to show interest or do i send a letter of interest to the school ? what can i do ?

If I shadow another physician or volunteer and update my amcas, would that do anything ?

what do you mean by wait listed pre interview? Do you mean your application is on hold?

Yes, you can definitely try to show interest and send letters to get school's to perhaps take another look at your application. Having an update helps even more, but not essential.
