Wondering if anyone had any advice.

During my first semester in undergrad I came in as a Physics major, and then failed Calc I, Phys 211 (calc based) and got a D in General Chem. Basically, I didn't do any work and fell flat on my face. After that I completely gave up science, thinking I had no chance of ever getting into med school. Since then I've been working my butt off to bring up my grades. GPA overall = 3.14 Major GPA (English) = 3.75, I'm also graduating a year early.

Right now Im applying to various PostBacc programs, and I would really like to try and make it out in one year. Does anyone know if this is even possible given my situation? Im graduating this spring, so if I start Fall 2010, when would I be taking my MCAT?

Thanks.😕

Postbacs are still accepting applications for matriculation this fall?

You'd take the MCAT next summer, if you completed everything in one year.

Just out of curiosity, why don't you simply stay at your undergraduate institution and finish the prereqs? Why graduate early when you've got a perfectly good year of college left to use?

Hey. Welcome to SDN.

Couple questions that I do have that would help with any advice others would want to give you.

- Have you completed all the medical school pre-requisites yet? (edit: just reread your post. You're going to need to retake that physics class and gen chem)
- What is your sGPA and how many units do you have in the science coursework as well as cumulative GPA
- Are you aiming for osteopathic or allopathic medicine
- "Make it out in 1 year" is a bit confusing. Are you aiming for medical school matriculation in Fall 2011? Are you aiming for finishing a 1 year post-bacc and then applying for Fall 2012 matriculation?
- Which programs did you apply for? When did you apply for them (submit all materials and received complete notification)?
