Very rotation dependent but most ward rotations such as surgery or medicine include seeing your patients first in the morning before the residents show up (anywhere from 4am-7am). After that you will round with your residents. You will then do floor work (on medicine) or go to conference or go to the OR (on surgery). That afternoon you may have class as a student, or round with residents again (on surgery), and then go home (around 4pm-8pm) or take call.
It's really confusing to lump all the clerkships into one schedule cuz they're all different. Our school had a handbook that was passed down prior to 3rd year which detailed each clerkship and what to expect.
