What is the best way to prepare for this section? I know practice will make perfect but I am really having a hard time visualizing the shapes... Also, how tough is the real TFE? I have CDP and bootcamp, will that be suffice? I would buy achiever but my exam is coming up soon so i dont know if im gonna have enough time to do all the problems.
thanks

Practice will definitely help you improve, but for me finding a good strategy to TFE is the way to go. I ended up relying on the line counting technique and just visualizing the shape of the object BEFORE eliminating answer choices. I feel like CDP has too many irregular shapes/holes. On the real DAT you will encounter more lines and simpler shapes. Bootcamp is pretty good also. If you do well on these practice tests then you'll be ok. You can even skip this section, finish easier parts like hole punching/cube counting, then go back to review this portion. Good luck!

thanks for your help. I just dont know how to approach this section... Should i look at the choices and try to match with the 2 given sides? Should i visualize first then go to the answer choices? i dont know what to do... esp for the ones that have like 5-6 dashed and solid lines in a square, that already looks so intimidating...

Practice daily with bootcamp. visualize the image. Do about 10-15 TFE problems on bootcamp a day (untimed) and you should get the hang of it soon. REVIEW your mistakes and learn from them. Goodluck

You can cross out the wrong answer choices first. On the real DAT, usually 1 or 2 will be obviously wrong even from matching with only 1 side. Then you can analyze the other 2 and see the differences and match it up with the original 2 sides again. Just make sure you only use one specific strategy to approach TFE and stick with it.

I plan to do practice problems daily but it hasnt clicked in yet...
the problem is i dont have a strategy. whenever i look at the 2 sides given, i just freeze up and my mind goes blank because i dont know what i am looking at. i just dont know how to approach this section at all
