i am not that pessimistic.

i talk to them quite a bit, i have them on speed dial and vice versa, and its pretty clear when both they and i agree that certain patients would be at significant risk with GA and open decompression.

I think you’re the exception to the typical scenario that occurs in pp. these patients don’t generally make it to a surgeon til they’ve gotten mild and a spacer… sold to them as “less invasive”. I know I see a biased sample…. But I get several consults per month for 2nd opinions after having mild…. Who I then refer to a surgeon for a decompression which can generally be done endoscopically.

My experience is similar.

It's been proposed. We'll know in November when the final rule comes out. The HOPD doctors will oppose it. Greed is a terrible thing.

Has anyone noticed changes in support system for MILD procedure with stryker? It appears that they have more hands off approach. stryker appears to be minimally interested in training or marketing or providing clinical support. They just want to sell there product to existing customers (trained physicians) and call it a day.

Yeah they have a near-zero interest in marketing the product.

We had reps coming by this past year trying to drum up interest. Probably regional variation.

i talked to the vertos stryker rep today. he is getting no support at all from stryker, unlike vertos. no clinical specialists to help him out. its all on him now.

the asp is too low to have any extra head count. It is a good thing to have in the kypho reps bag which is what we have here.
