Hey guys I am a med student and I have plans to develop surgical software applications/solutions pertaining to ophthalmology. My question is, what information or resources do you wish you could access while sterile under the scope? I assume many of you operate with an alcon or B+L surg scope that gives data across the optic from your phaco but are there other metrics of information types that you wish you could see without touching a paper or swiping at your phone or laptop? I'm an MSII and ophtho is my target. PM me with any questions or post to this thread.

Nothing. Anything that obstructs my view of the surgical field, even a little bit, is an unnecessary distraction.

Yeah Verion is pretty impressive. I actually worked at a clinic over the summer that was doing some of the test work for that before its release. Alcon Giant vs. Pre-Ophtho Pion doesn't really stac up. I want to develop something that could be used as an adjunct. For example, the doc I worked with would occasionally have to sit back from the scope and ask an assistant about a certain refractive goal/lens calc or would ask about K values from the patient chart. My question to you guys is: Would this be of value if it were easily accessible either through the scope or through some other peripheral device without having to ask a nurse or surgical scrub for? And I guess with that in mind, it doesn't have to be surgical either, are there other data sets you wish you could have around the office/clinic that you wish you could have at a seconds reach?
