Thought I would share an article that a finance professor of mine wrote. The article gives advice on government vs. private student loans and other topics such as defending yourself against creditors, taxes, and 401ks.

I'd also recommend All Your Worth: The Ultimate Lifetime Money Plan by Elizabeth Warren and Amelia Warren Tyagi. This is the best budgeting book I've ever read, teaches you how to spend and save your money.
