I signed the student loan consolidation papers sallie mae sent me, but I'm worried that it will affect my deferment on my undergrad loans. This is my last year (hopefully I'll be working in July next year). Does anyone have any experience with this? thanks 😱

Hi there. I just consolidated my loans. I had some undergrad loans too, and they are all in deferment as long as you're at least a half-time student.

Hope that helps.

Your loans will be deferred as long as you are a student. When you start residency you can apply for an "economic hardship" deferment (which I am in the process of doing now.)

3 year residency = "economic hardship"..sweet! DEFERMENT!!! 😀
