Students with Pharm Tech license..

How many of you have a pharmacy tech license? How is the test? What were your methods of studying for it?

And getting a pharm. tech license wouldn't affect my chances of getting an intern or the pharmacy license after I graduate, would it? It seems unlikely, but I thought I'd ask.

(I would ask my counselor, but classes are closed, and summer sessions don't start just yet. 🙂)

I have a tech license(FLorida). I studied for like 7 days and got 750 out of 950. I bought the book written by Noah Reifman. Read everything but didn't focus a lot on drug classifiaction and names because it is impossible to remember all that. Anyways they don't ask a whole lot on that may be 9 questions. Do the math part, as the majority of the questions were calculations very easy if you know the formulas. And lot of the practise Test questions from that book were on the PTCB test. By the way are u from India?

Study the math portion, the goverment regulation and the sig codes. I didn't bother studying the drug classification and the names because there would be no way I will remember it all unless I work in a pharmacy. I pass the test with a pretty decent score.

I took the one day review course (6-8 hours) and they give you a study booklet, plus I have worked in a pharmacy all my life...and currently. I got the hospital test with lots of questions on cytotoxic drugs. Not thrilled about it because that is probably the only type of pharmacy I have NOT worked. I got a 810 on the test and was very happy with that score!
