Here's a thread for people studying for FL MPJE and wanted to discuss laws and statutes.

Please do NOT use this to ask for Seamons/Nova/etc notes (there are other threads for that).

So one thing I was hoping someone could answer is...
Federal law states LTCF CII partial fills are permitted and that the script is valid for 60 days from the date written. Is that only if it's a partial fill? So if we have a script for a LTCF patient that is a CII and we're filling it like normal, does it abide by the federal 60 day rule or if that only for partial fills? Because FL law states CII expiration is a year, so would a CII LTCF script be 60 days or a year?

This federal law technically sits under the "Partial filling of prescriptions" category. So my take-away is a CII LTCF script that you're filling (fully, not as a partial) expires in 1 year in FL.

I'm shooting from the hip with no notes in front of me, but over 10 years as RPh in LTC. The rules/regs in LTCF are always (in every state I've been licensed & worked) "up for interpretation," however, I interpret and we practiced:

C2 Rx comes in (Ex: 120 Oxy)
We dispense 50 (for whatever reason- insurance, not sufficient QTY- whatever)

We have 60 DAYS to "fill & dispense" remaining 70.

So, had the script just been written and put on hold and NONE dispensed - Rx valid for 1 year. This (I assume) is discussing how long to finish dispensing a partial.

Again- shooting from the hip!

It's not allowing me to make a "New" post - so I'm throwing this out there to those who HAVE recently taken the FL MPJE-

Taking mine Monday at 5. Fingers crossed!

1. What was your MOST valuable study aid and/or questions that were most like exam.

2. If you could go back and study one area again that was on exam, but you did not expect....

3. HOW many brand/generic and schedule matched with control (Sch 1, 2, 3 ...) on exam abouts

4. Compounding questions?

Thank for any help allowable! I'm licensed in 2 other states & company moved me here for position. If I don't pass, no paycheck and/livelihood family until i pass - no pressure - ha!
