Hey,

I was thinking of going on a trip out of the country during spring break, but now I'm feeling guilty about it. Should I be studying for step 1 USMLE at that time? I'm a D.O. student so I'll be taking both the COMLEX and the USMLE. Any advice?

Im a 3rd yr DO student who did the same thing last year. I went on a medical mission trip for spring break. I didnt really want to go since I thought it would really screw up my study scheduel and put me behind. I had already planed to study and get through all biochem during that week but really felt like I needed to go on the trip. I brought my pharm cards with me and reviewed on the plane and a little at night with some other students. It was actually a good break and I was glade I did it. Yeah, I had to work a little more to fit it all in but I dont think it really made a difference in my score. usmle:239 and comlex: 646. I felt like I made the right decision but its ultimatly your decision.
