hello, i am a canadian student attending a canadian university.

Ive been looking at the VR section of the mcat, and i had trouble understanding a lot of the passages, especially because of challenging vocabs and I felt like i wasnt reading fast enough

so i was wondering if studying for the SAT will be beneficial because it can help me a lot with vocabs + reading comprehension... I still have about 1.5 years till MCAT and Im not sure what I need to do now, in order to improve the VR section

I know MCAT VR is a lot harder than the SAT, but do u guys think it is still good to study SAT first, and then MCAT? Ive been told that reading magazines like sci american, harper's is good, but do u guys think reading novels r better?

Thanks soo much!

pick examkrackers 101 passages.

hey I actually have that book with me...

do u think doing those maybe 1-2 a day wil help?? Cuz i think starting with the basics (SAT + vocab) is more important than just studying for the mcat right off the bat

if reading comprehension is a problem then i suggest you read the news everyday. set your homepage to bbc or cnn. read a couple articles. lots of people talk about reading the Economist. i like the Wall Street Journal.

He's not a troll.

Waterloo, the SAT is useless for the MCAT. Improve your vocab normally, read more, look up the words you don't know. Be proactive. Pick up the Economist, and read that. Work on your english and your reading speed. Then, when the time comes near to study for your MCAT, pick up exam krakers and the PR verbal books and be dilligent.
