My trimester is coming to an end in about 5 weeks or so and I only have two semesters left when I get back (Pharm, Path I, Path II and some clinical type classes)

But I feel like I should get some knowledge under my belt before I start up the new semester. I know its important to be fresh for each semester, but I feel as if I have some catching up to do, and by that, I mean I'd like to address my weakest areas in the subjects I have taken.

For example:
Anatomy - Head (conchas, ear, things like that)
Biochem - some pathways, fed/fast state
Physio - Renal
Micro - bacteriology

I'd like to get these areas done because I'm weakest in these subjects, and I'd like to bring them up to par with the rest of the areas I've studied. I don't want to be "learning" these subjects when it comes time to studying for the boards, and though it may "drain my tank" somewhat for the upcoming semester, I feel maybe its a chance I should take.

thoughts?

Personally my advice would be to enjoy your break. If you study too early, you run the risk of forgetting what you've studied.

it's essentially preparing for the Step...but I'm not "studying" for that purpose.

I feel as though these being my weakest areas, if I simply wait until its time to review for the boards, I'll be learning this stuff for the first time rather than reviewing it. Sure I probably won't remember it when I start studying for it in a few months, but I feel it will fill my knowledge gap so I'll be able to re-learn the material much quicker.

maybe its a bad idea?
