I can't see myself reading a textbook for 4+ hours a day in preparation for the DATs but ideally I would like to be studying for 6-8 hours a day.

Would it be wise to read a book for 4 hours a day and then start doing questions from DAT Destroyer or would it be better to just wait on doing Destroyer until I'm completely done reading the book?

I know everyone learns differently but I would like some opinions on the subject.

Also, what are the best practice tests (either from a website or software that I would need to purchase) available that can try so I can get a feel for what the DAT will be like (timing, degree of difficulty, etc.)? I plan on taking it for the first time this summer and I'd like to go into at least having some experience so I'm not so nervous.

everyone is different. For me, I like to read the destroyer questions and get a bunch wrong (like half wrong). This way I know what is on the exam. Then I hit the books. Otherwise I am overwhelmed with the amount of information in the books. Either way you do it, you just have to "get your feet wet". Get in there and start working on it.

For me, since I've taken some of the bio, chem and math classes before, I would just do a quick review or reading, like 5-6 chapters in 2-3 hours of reading. Later, I work on the exercises, to know how much I still need to improve.

Later on, I move on to the next chapters. Kaplan practice tests will be first tool to use before I move on to the real exams, like Destroyer, Achiever, TopScore, and some other tests like MCAT, PCAT, GRE... if I still have time.

Hehe... I can't sit down and study or look at the book for several hours. My mind will "fly" away...

Study hard and Good luck on the test day!!!
