hey all

as far as studying for the OATs is there anything you did esp. for Ochem and Gchem that helped you move through the material faster? How long did it take you to finish studying for each of those sections. Im studying for this right now but im esp. weak when it comes to General Chem since its been a while since ive taken that course. I have the big kaplan book and am studying out. Did anyone make flash cards? did it work? Thanks so much.

I picked up a box of flashcards for Gchem and bio made by sparknotes at barnes and noble. as you would expect, its hard to put chem material on flashcards, but i think they helped a little. The bio ones definetly helped though.

Gen Chem just takes practice. Knowing what to do when you see a problem. That saves you on time, allowing more time to think through those o-chem and bio questions.

Practice Gen-chem in spurts. End each study session with 5-10 practice gen-chem problems.

Look at equations before you go to bed! this works. For you psychology fans this is retroactive interference. New learning disrupts old before it can get coded. STUDY BEFORE BED to prevent this. After family/friends go to sleep, stay up 45 mins and study, it'll pay off.

Sounds Crazy, but it works.
