I spend a lot of time writing out Powerpoints. I know it'll get even more content heavy as I move into my Junior and Senior year bio courses.

I don't think it's realistic in dental school to write out everything either.. (maybe it is?). Looking to be more efficient when absorbing material.

Wanted to ask y'all what works for you?

Any study technique you started to do that really helped retain information?

I used to just type all of my notes into a word doc, print them out, and stare at it with a friend for hours. We'd draw diagrams/figures into the pages so everything was together in one spot. Highlighted important things, etc. Pretty standard stuff but it worked for me. Repetition is the key regardless to what technique you use to study. Just keep hammering down concepts until it clicks.

Edit: Also knowing what to study is a big part of it. Efficient studying if you will. If your professor only spoke about a topic for 5 minutes but then another for 50, you should obviously not put your energy into the 5 minute topic.

Spatial studying and calm reading works for me... Concepts click better for me when I am not constantly writing. Only write if it is a straight factual content.

Diagrams and pictures are always helpful. Always challenge your self with a question in your mind.

I think flash cards work great for me in the same way that teaching someone helps one learn better.
Having to explain a concept to someone or say it out loud does wonders for me in reinforcing material/concepts, much more than just rote memorization and repetition.
